Biography

Michael Masoy Petersen known in the industry as "MichaelMasoy" was born in the US Virgin Island of St. Croix; Michael started modeling at a very young age. By the age of 15, He did two international commercials and modeled for a few designers.

Michael moved to the Big Apple in 1997 to pursue a career in dance but because of his love for fashion he started working with numerous designers and models. He also has worked with many females in the pageantry system such as those competing in the Hal Jackson Talented Teen Pageant, Miss St. Croix USVI, Miss South Bronx Job Corps Academy and Miss New York USVI.

In time, he began training models in the industry on runway walking and photography posing. Before you know it; he became a master in the craft.

Michael has worked as the casting director and runway/model trainer for I Style Starz Entertainment Annual HIV/AIDS benefit fashion show, runway trainer for Teen for Safe Cosmetics "2008 Turning Green" Fashion Show presented by Whole Food Market, NYU Asian Culture Experience 2008 Annual Benefit Fashion Show and Coskel University 2006 spring fashion show. In addition, he worked as the set/stylist coordinator for the 2006-2007 "I Am Coskel" campaign ads launching in New York City and Tokyo, Japan. Michael has worked with many designers, stylists, photographers, hair and make-up artists for fashion shows and photo shoots, and he has trained models for the Olympus and Spring Fashion Week Shows.

Michael loves training male and female models on runway and photo shoot techniques and has been doing it for the past 6 years. He enjoys working with beautiful people and also has a passion for dance and artistic movement of the human body. These serve as inspiration for him in his work as a runway coach and model trainer.

A special delight for Michael is the expression on models' faces when they see him walking in 6-inch “pumps”.

Michael loves the fashion industry and plans to become the number one runway/model trainer in the industry.
